SnuggleMe vs. Dock-a-tot

When I went to register for Julius, EVERYONE said that I needed a Dock-a-tot. Like, seriously everyone. So, I got one. We stayed in the hospital for a couple of days and when I brought him home, I was so excited to see if he would cozy up in his Dock-a-tot and he did!....for about 2 days. After that, he REFUSED to sleep in it. I would hold him in my arms until he went arm-limp asleep and then gently lay him in it and he would fuss and wake up.

The only way I could get him to sleep was cuddled up in a pillow up against a couch cushion. Definitely not safe unless I was watching him every second. Which I did. Which also meant that I wasn't sleeping at all so it defeated the purpose of not holding him anyway! I started looking for another lounger/napper type of bed and was hesitantly hopeful to find SnuggleMe. The SnuggleMe looked like it hugged the babies it held while keeping them safe. I knew I had to try it!

So, this sleep deprived mama reached out to SnuggleMe and they sent me one to try. The SnuggleMe has a suspended center so it pulls to the sides of the baby and lets them feel like they're being cuddled. Not wanting to be too hopeful, I did a side by side comparison of it vs. the Dock-a-tot to see if Julius would sleep in either.

The SnuggleMe won, hands down. Now, in all fairness, it's not like every single time I lay him down in it, he'll fall or stay asleep but the percentage is WAY higher and for me, that's a win. He may end up liking the Dock-a-tot later but for now, my guy is all about the snuggles :)

So, if you're like me and wondering why your babe won't fall asleep in the Dock-a-tot, give the SnuggleMe a try! It just might give you the chance to sleep...i.e. save your life.
