Makeup Must-Haves

I'm not a super beauty guru or makeup maven but thankfully, I'm surrounded by talented women in my life who are! Seriously, my sister-in-law is an incredible makeup artist and my cousin does hair, makeup, and photography--talk about a talented family! That said, even though I'm very minimalist when it comes to makeup, I enjoy getting dolled up as much as the next person! In fact, I still remember the first makeup product my mom ever let me buy. Clear mascara by Maybelline. I was so excited! Almost as excited as when she let me add Dr. Pepper and Vanilla to my collection of Lip Smackers...but I digress. (I found you a link to these throwback gems just in case my walk down memory lane made you miss your Lip Smackers too, haha.)

As far as makeup goes, there are two things that I wear almost every day:

1. Mascara - some of my favorites are:

They're Real by Benefit (my new every day go-to)

Double Extend by L'Oreal (the BEST for sweaty, sweaty workoutss

Voluminous by L'Oreal (this was my first real mascara and I've stuck with it for years)

2. Brows - I only have one favorite:

Anastasia Dipbrow pomade by Anastasia (if you get this, make sure you have a brush like this)

If you don't like the gel texture, I also love Anastasia Brow Powder Duo and have used mine for like 2 years!

Everything else is negotiable depending on how much time I have, but brows and lashes are a staple. Now that I work at a 9-to-5 job where the dress code is a few steps up from lululemon, I figured I should probably try to up my makeup game as well. Let's be honest, most days I still can only manage my top two, but for days when I have more than 10 mins to get ready, here are some of my favs:

Nude Lips

Sonic Truth by Marc Jacobs (I was introduced to this color by my makeup artist sister-in-law who is brilliant and I LOVE LOVE it)

Nude Matte Lipstick by NYX

Tinted Moisturizer/Foundation

Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation by Lancome (this one is pricey but a little goes a long way and it gives the best, not-too-heavy finish)

Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer by Laura Mercier (this one I can put all over my face without it feeling or looking heavy #winning)

Blush + Highlighter

Orgasm by Nars (prettiest pink with hints of gold and cult beauty fav)

Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter by Becca (I wore this today and Jordan asked me if I was trying to look like a mermaid angel. I'm counting that as a win.)
