Headphones On & Hands Free

Listening is the new reading...

Like many of you, I love a good audio book and podcast! I am a big reader, but finding time to sit down and actually hold a book can tough. (Adulthood, am I right?!) Listening, instead of reading, means my hands are free, but I'm getting all the benefits of learning something new or escaping reality for a bit. So, I've rounded up some of my current favorites to share with you. Comment below and tell me what you're loving! I am always looking for recommendations!

Podcasts

The Chalene Show: Motivation, Leadership, Confidence, Family, Fitness, and Life Coaching with Chalene Johnson. (You might recognize Chalene from fitness programs she's developed such as PiYo and TurboJam. Her podcast is truly one of my favorites!)

Vibrant Happy Women: Get happier! Inspiration & motivation from authentic and empowered entrepreneurs, moms, coaches and happiness/self-help experts like Brene Brown, Gretchen Rubin, Tony Robbins, Elizabeth Gilbert, Glennon Doyle Melt.

About Progress: Interviews with recovering perfectionists, paralyzed dreamers, and balanced achievers. Learn how people work on themselves, aspire to dreams, get out of ruts, achieve goals, and overcome obstacles all while keeping their self-worth intact. It's about progress, not perfection!

Awesome with Alison: If you don't follow "The Alison Show", you are missing out! Alison and her husband discuss the challenges of life with warmth, compassion, and humor. They give you small, actionable steps at the end of each episode so you can start acting on what you're learning.

Audio Books

The Agatha Raisin series by M.C. Beaton: The gruff, likable detective Agatha is a character you can't help but love.

Her Royal Spyness series by Rhys Bowen: I love cozy mysteries, especially those set in Europe. The narration is fun and the story lines are entertaining and easy. Great escapism!

The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce: The unassuming Harold is the kind of person who makes you want to stand up and cheer. Redemptive and full of hope.

The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling: I've loved this series from day one and Jim Dale is a narration GENIUS. It's like my warm blanket at the end of the day.

The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff: This short listen is engaging and makes Taoism much more approachable.

The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown: Brene does it again and explains what really makes us happy and what gets in the way.
