Hello, third trimester!
Wow! I feel like the time has just flown by! I can hardly believe I'm already in the third trimester and we get to meet our little guy in like 2 1/2 months! Here's a little update on how we're doing:
- Have you been able to keep your promise about not talking negatively about your body?
Yes! It's taken a diligent effort and daily reminders but so far so good! A lot of people say I'm not that big yet but when it's your body changing, everything feels different so it's definitely been a good challenge for me to take on.
- How much weight have you gained?
So far I've gained 16-17 pounds which is just about average for where I am. I typically weigh myself once a week to make sure I'm gaining on track (too much or too little can be a sign that something is wrong so I like to be in the know).
- Have you been eating really healthily?
Honestly, I've tried my best haha but I've also eaten more chocolate and sweets than normal! I think the one thing that has worked in my favor is that I've relaxed a little bit more about my diet and exercise. It sounds counter-intuitive but for me and my body, taking a step back and allowing it to do it's thing has really been great. Sure, I have more cellulite and less muscle than before but that doesn't really bother me because my body is doing such an amazing thing!
- How have you been feeling?
Pretty good. My energy levels are low--which totally makes sense because I'm growing a human but besides that, the second trimester and beginning of the third have felt great! I'm starting to get more indigestion and sleeplessness but my doctor says that's very normal for this stage of my pregnancy.
- Have you started nesting?
Yes haha! I don't know if I'm starting early but I want to throw away everything in my house and keep everything perfectly clean. While this urge is fine during the day when I can throw away and clean whatever I want, the hardest thing is turning it off when I lay down to sleep. Sometimes I'll wake up at 2am and have this insane urge to reorganize my closet and it's almost like I can't go back to sleep until I do it. So far, I've talked myself out of getting out of my bed but it's a serious issue!
